Rhonda Marr Biography
The purpose of Closer to Home Acupuncture is to facilitate in the healing of the body, mind and spirit of all patients through the use of compassionate, caring and individualized complementary treatment therapies. Closer to Home Acupuncture provides acupuncture services and Traditional Chinese Medicine to the residents of Cortland the surrounding communities and to the residents of Baldwinsville and surrounding communities.
Closer to Home Acupuncture has been open since September, 2007. It’s owner and practitioner, Rhonda Marr and her herbal remedies and body care products are familiar to the Cortland area as she sold her products at the City of Cortland’s annual Farmer’s Market for several years as well as owning and operating “Sweet Violet Botanicals”, an herb/gift/book store formerly located in Marathon, New York. Rhonda is an avid Western Herbalist who has studied under such notable herbalists including 7Song, Kathy Gould, and Rosemary Gladstar, all Professional Members of the American Herbalist Guild, and “The Grande Dame of Aromatherapy”, Ms. Jeanne Rose a notable and distinguished author of numerous Herb and Aromatherapy books, as well as being an international lecturer and distiller of essential oils and aroma therapeutic hydrosols.
Rhonda’s education is comprised of a Bachelor’s Degree in Paralegal Science from the Florida Metropolitan University, in Orlando, Florida and a Master’s Degree in Acupuncture from New York Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls, New York. Rhonda has completed advanced training in Acupuncture for the Cancer Patient, at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. She has also completed training in Medical Qi-Gong at the Qi Gong Institute of Rochester in Rochester, NY. Rhonda continues to expand and build on her education by attending numerous continuing education events in acupuncture, energy healing, herbal medicine and aromatherapy throughout the country.
Rhonda is also a certified ARCH “Ancient Rainbow Conscious Healing” practitioner. ARCH is a Hawaiian energetic healing modality that offers the body an opportunity to release the cause of dis-ease on physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels and to experience Oneness with the Divine Source.
Closer to Home Acupuncture offers treatments consisting of Acupuncture, Moxibustion, Cupping, Gua Sha, Aromatherapy, Amma Therapy, ARCH “Ancient Rainbow Conscious Healing”, Medical Qi Gong, Herbal Medicine, and Dietary Therapy based upon Traditional Chinese Medical theory, and Constitutional Facial Renewal Acupuncture.
Closer to Home also offers aromatherapy products including custom essential oil blends, all natural hand made herbal salves and liniments, Golden Flower Chinese herbal formulas, and nutritional supplements.
